What is an Interview Coach?
For many people, the worst part of looking for a job is the interview. A job interview can make some people nervous, anxious, or possibly panicked. Even if you are relaxed, there is a chance that you might not know the proper strategies to guarantee that your interview will go off without a hitch. These are all great reasons why you may need to hire an Interview Coach.
Nothing makes me happier than hearing that someone I worked with got the job! I have been doing Interview Coaching for 20 years, starting as a recruiter at Robert Half. I’ve been on both sides of the interview table, so I know just how difficult they can be. But I also know how to put together a great interview strategy so that you can go into the interview with confidence. It always comes down to this: Why should someone hire you instead of someone else?
How Does It Work?
If you have an upcoming interview, send me the job posting and your resume to review so I can get a feel for your situation. Most interview coaching takes about an hour, including some role-playing so I can see how you react in “real-world” situations. I will teach you how to research the industry, the company, and the people involved with your interviews. We will also put together strategies for salary negotiations, interview follow-ups, and how to handle sensitive issues like employment gaps, age, or recent terminations.
If you are in the San Francisco-area, we can do the coaching in my office. This is always helpful because then we can talk about body language as a way to convey your confidence. If you can only talk over the phone, no worries! You will still get a comprehensive overview on how to make the best possible impression when you walk into the room!
