Job Seekers Networking Groups

Job networking groups are organized to help people network as they look for a new career. The following list is from the San Francisco Bay Area. It includes organizations where Irene Marshall has been a featured speaker one or multiple times.

Private and church-sponsored groups have active e-lists where people share information about job leads, inside contacts and other helpful information. You need to attend one time in person to be included in the e-lists. Smaller support groups are often created where people meet separately to discuss their job searches and provide individual support.

“Alumni” who have gotten jobs are often now hiring managers . They liked to return to the groups to find new employees as a way of identifying good people and supporting the organizations.

Testimonials

"Just wanted to drop you a note to say how I got more out of your 45 minute presentation than some all day seminars I’ve attended.

Thanks for the practical guidance."

- A.J.

"The process you utilized really made me look at my work accomplishments in a different light. The questions you posed were quite thought-provoking. I had never really done a thorough analysis of where I have been or what I have done. However in retracing my steps with the tools you provided, I can honestly say that I never realized the experience I have acquired. Seeing it on paper in this new format really makes me proud of my accomplishments. The way you have re-worked my resume truly tells the story and has given me a new confidence in the job search process. I am extremely happy with the end result! I will certainly share this experience with others and will recommend your services whenever possible.

Thanks again. It has been a pleasure working with you on this important project."

- J.V.

"The process I learned from Irene resulted in an excellent resume. More importantly, I have learned a process which I can use for every change to my resume from now on."
